Sewer Smoke Testing

smoke testing

The City of Perryville sewer maintenance crews will be conducting smoke testing of sewer mains and lateral service lines.  We plan to be on site and start at 8 am.  You do not have to be at home for crews to perform this testing. Please run water down floor drains that are not used very often, this will fill the trap and prevent the smoke from entering your home. If smoke is present it may have come from a drain or a broken sewer service line under the home. The smoke is not hazardous to humans or pets however, it may cause some minor irritation to air ways. If you do notice smoke in your home open a door and windows for added ventilation.

If you have any questions please call 547-2500 and ask for Charlie McLeod.

We apologize for any disruption of your daily routine and any inconvenience that this may cause.
