The City of Perryville holds general elections on a yearly basis.
Even-numbered years - An election is held for the mayor and for one alderman in each ward. Those offices hold a two-year term. In addition, an election is held for the chief of police. That office holds a four-year term.
Odd-numbered years - an election is held for one alderman in each ward. Those offices hold a two year term.

Last Day to Register to Vote – March 10, 2021
First Day for Candidate Filing – December 15, 2020 beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Last Day for Candidate Filing – January 19, 2021, ending at 5:00 p.m.
Final Certification Date – January 26, 2021
Any person wishing to seek office must file a declaration of candidacy with the city clerk, pay a $25 filing fee, and meet the qualifications required for the position they wish to hold.
